We all would be well
advised to set goals for the year ahead. Goals need to
be in writing. You knew that – didn’t you? The chances
now will become much greater that your goals will get
done if you do that.
Your written goals now
need to have a specific time attached to them. Make sure
that the written goals have a plan of action to make
sure you stay on track. It makes no difference if the
goals are simple or complex, having a “how to” makes
them more likely to be accomplished.
Sound too cumbersome
or maybe even too trivial to work? Well, I didn’t make
this up and yes this is a formula Dooley has used
successfully for some time now. It will work for you
too. This is especially true if you enlist an
accountability partner to help you along the way. Try
this. It’s a great way to make important things happen.
Did I leave out the best accountability partner to pick?
Ask God, without question He’s the best.
RSC has goals for 2012
that include some new and different initiatives. As you
might expect, the largest ones will involve member
participation so please consider helping and initiating
some of your own goals for RSC outreach this year.
One goal I’ll share is
we will increase our board size. More things going on
requires more member participation and great ideas. I
don’t know who it was that said this but please wrap
your mind around this phrase; “There’s none of us as
smart as all of us”. With the Holy Spirit’s leadership
we can expect great things to happen with Rutherford
Senior Connections.
Here is a RSC goal you
can participate in and place into prayer. Our care
giving educational program is up and running. It is
called “It’s About Time”. The program is designed to
work well on the church level even though other venues
will work as well. Everything about the curriculum is
tuned to deliver tremendous results. There isn’t space
to give a formal explanation and introduce to the
creators of the program, so stay tuned for more of the
details.
